Copyright, Characters & Permissions
Effective date:
Ownership and protected material
Copyright © . All rights reserved, except as expressly licensed or permitted by applicable law.
The website contains material owned by or licensed to and other identified rights holders. Protection is claimed only to the extent recognized by applicable law and within the rights actually held. Protected original expression may include website copy; manuscripts and book text; original dialogue and story adaptations; illustrations and character artwork; photographs; original graphic elements; coloring pages; sticker designs; activity sheets; downloadable files; music compositions; lyrics; sound recordings; narration; videos; animation; and original selections or arrangements of those materials.
All editions, formats, excerpts, previews, downloadable resources, bonus material, and protected original revisions remain subject to the applicable rights. Free availability, online visibility, email access, or the absence of a watermark does not place protected material in the public domain.
Our characters and story world
Our original character expression includes distinctive artwork, designs, written characterization, dialogue, relationships, and original fictional additions developed for Shiloh Esther's books and related media. Where legally protected, this includes our original versions and depictions associated with the Naaman story, Floating Zoo, Bubbles, Giggles, Sir Snorts, Noodle, Bumble, Pip, Chatterbox, Fluff & Puff, and Peck & Pester, together with other original characters introduced in our publications.
We do not claim ownership of biblical people, biblical events, historical facts, general ideas, common character types, names by themselves, or material already in the public domain. Our rights concern protectable original expression and any valid brand rights, not exclusive ownership of the underlying Bible account. Modern Bible translations, licensed illustrations, and other third-party material may carry their own copyright and permission requirements.
Names, logos, and brand identity
Shiloh Esther branding, logos, series identifiers, and other source-identifying marks may be protected by trademark or other applicable law. Third-party marks belong to their respective owners. No permission is given to use a mark in a way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation that does not exist.
Accurate references and other lawful uses remain subject to applicable law. A name appearing here does not mean it is a registered trademark.
What families may do
You may view the website and use the ordinary browser functions needed for that purpose. You may share a link to a public page. You may privately read a lawfully acquired physical book with children in your care and enjoy lawfully acquired audio within its permitted scope.
An official file expressly offered for personal download may be saved by the authorized adult and used within one household. A printable expressly offered for personal printing may be printed in reasonable quantities for that household's children. Keep its notices and credits intact. Coloring, completing, cutting, or assembling an activity as its instructions contemplate is permitted.
Do not distribute the source file, upload it to a shared drive or group, sell printed copies, or give another household your private download link. Share the official public product or resource link so others can obtain their own authorized copy. A separate license displayed with a resource controls if it expressly allows broader use.
Schools, libraries, churches, and groups
This general personal license does not grant permission to reproduce files for an entire classroom, congregation, library program, camp, organization, or online audience. Ask about an educator, event, or group license where reproduction or another licensed use is needed.
Nothing here restricts a lawful exception for teaching, library use, accessibility, fair use, or another legally permitted activity. Reading, copying, public performance, recording, and online distribution can involve different rights; permission for one does not automatically include the others.
Uses requiring permission
Unless an express license or applicable law permits it, you may not reproduce, scan, republish, distribute, translate, adapt, sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit protected material. Restricted uses include uploading book pages, complete stories, downloadable files, songs, or recordings; creating derivative illustrations or animations that reproduce protected expression; and producing merchandise, stickers, apparel, toys, apps, books, or other products using protected characters or artwork.
The same rule applies to posting recorded read-alouds, dramatizations, lyric videos, audiobook versions, musical arrangements, and substantial excerpts where permission is legally required. Buying a book or receiving a free song does not by itself grant publication, broadcast, synchronization, performance, adaptation, or merchandising rights.
Credit is appreciated where appropriate, but attribution is not a substitute for required permission. Changing a color, reversing an image, redrawing it, paraphrasing protected passages, or giving away an unauthorized copy does not automatically make the use lawful.
Artificial intelligence and automated collection
As a condition of any access license we grant, and to the extent enforceable under applicable law, you may not extract, scrape, bulk-download, or supply protected materials from this website for AI or machine-learning training, fine-tuning, retrieval databases, dataset creation, synthetic-media production, or automated reproduction without prior written permission.
You may not use our protected artwork, recordings, text, or authorized access to create unauthorized replicas of protected character expression or to misrepresent a synthetic voice, likeness, performance, or endorsement as Shiloh Esther's. These terms do not grant rights over another creator's independent work, an abstract artistic style, or uses that cannot lawfully be restricted.
Ordinary assistive technology, authorized indexing, and processing expressly permitted by an applicable license or nonwaivable law are not prohibited. This clause is a reservation of rights and a contractual condition where applicable; it does not represent that every AI use is automatically infringement or that every component created with automated tools is copyrightable.
Photography, voice, and likeness
Our photographs, author portraits, voice recordings, signatures, and likeness materials may involve copyright, publicity, privacy, trademark, and contractual rights. No license is granted to use them in advertising, endorsement claims, identity imitation, voice cloning, synthetic avatars, or deceptive promotional material without written authorization and any other legally required permission.
Lawful exceptions and physical ownership
These policies preserve fair use, applicable public-domain rights, lawful accessibility uses, and other rights that cannot be waived. Nothing prohibits lawful resale, gifting, or lending of a legitimately acquired physical copy under applicable law. Ownership of that physical copy does not include the right to reproduce its contents, distribute a digital copy, or use the associated characters commercially.
Requesting permission
Email with the specific material, intended use, audience, format, quantity, distribution channels, territory, duration, and whether the use is commercial. Include any proposed edits, recording, translation, or merchandise. Permission must come from the authorized rights holder and apply to the requested use; silence, a social-media reaction, or general encouragement does not grant a license.
Press and media kits carry only the uses stated in their license. A free review copy does not transfer reproduction rights or require a favorable review.
Reporting infringement
Send suspected infringement to with your contact details, identification of the original work, the location of the material at issue, and an explanation of the concern. We may investigate, preserve relevant evidence lawfully, request correction or removal, restrict access, and seek remedies available under applicable law. Remedies depend on the facts and legal requirements; no automatic fine or guaranteed damages arise solely from this notice.
If you believe material on our website infringes your rights, provide enough information for us to locate and assess it. We will consider lawful counterarguments and appropriate responses. This contact process is not a representation that a DMCA agent has been registered or that statutory safe-harbor requirements have been satisfied.
