Meet Shiloh

I have spent 20+ years teaching children God’s Word.

They have spent 20+ years making sure I earned their attention.

I write Bible adventures faithful enough for grown-ups to trust and funny enough for children to request again.

Hi, I’m Shiloh.

Every creative language offers another way into a story.

I am a children’s author, animated-series creator, minister, artist, musician, songwriter, photographer and children’s ministry worship leader.

That sentence contains more commas than most children are willing to tolerate.

It also explains why I build stories the way I do.

Children do not experience a story through words alone. They notice rhythm, color, expression, movement, humor, sound and whether the grown-up reading it appears to be enjoying any of this.

My African background, fashion-design training and more than 20 years of ministry experience and training shape every part of my work. I think about what a story says, how it sounds aloud, what a child sees, what a parent can trust and what remains after the final page closes.

I am also a hive of creativity who loves children, cake and Capri.

Some details are simply too important to leave out.

Big personalities. Brave hearts. Growing minds.

Good ministry begins by noticing who is actually standing in front of you.

For more than 20 years, I have cared for children entrusted to me.

I have worked with every age group imaginable, from newborns and toddlers to preschoolers, kindergartners, preteens, teenagers, college students and young adults.

If they needed comfort, structure, creativity, encouragement, boundaries, faith or a good laugh, I have probably been responsible for all of it.

Sometimes in the same afternoon.

Along the way, I have had the rare joy of ministering to more than 50 sets of twins and two sets of triplets.

That taught me something quickly.

Matching faces do not produce matching personalities. Not even close.

Every child enters the room with a different history, temperament, sensitivity, gift and way of seeing the world.

Across the world

The languages changed. The responsibility did not.

My ministry journey has included children from more than 20 countries:

  • United States
  • United Kingdom
  • South Africa
  • Brazil
  • Mexico
  • Lebanon
  • Australia
  • Zimbabwe
  • Kenya
  • Jamaica
  • Poland
  • Japan
  • China
  • The Netherlands
  • France
  • Nigeria
  • Zambia
  • India
  • Switzerland
  • Italy

Children across the world share an astonishing capacity for laughter, imagination, faith and hope.

They are not all the same.

Their cultures, families, experiences and ways of expressing themselves matter. Working across countries taught me to listen before assuming, understand before leading and never confuse familiarity with wisdom.

Cultural intelligence, emotional awareness and spiritual sensitivity are not decorative extras in my work. They are foundational.

Every kind of room

The work has never been one kind of room.

I have cared for abandoned newborns in hospitals, served orphans, mentored vulnerable young girls and walked beside children navigating lives shaped by everything from privilege to trauma.

I have led citywide street revivals reaching more than 4,000 young people, high-school and college revival gatherings, children’s camps, Sunday school classrooms, mentoring circles and creative arts programs.

I have taught thousands of children God’s Word.

I have taught them how to worship Jesus sincerely, pray with confidence and recognize and steward the prophetic voice of God in a way that honors the Holy Spirit.

I believe children are not only the future leaders of faith. They are present carriers of the next wave of revival coming to the earth before Jesus comes.

A sacred responsibility

Ministry is not a position. It is stewardship.

Children are not an audience to manage.

They are big personalities, brave hearts and growing minds entrusted to our care.

My responsibility is to protect innocence, nurture callings, draw out prophetic assignments, awaken confidence and guide purpose.

I lead with joy, discipline, creativity, intelligence, humor, prophetic sensitivity and deep respect for every child God places in front of me.

My greatest honor is helping children discover who they are, whose they are and how powerful their future can become when they yield to Jesus Christ.

For parents

Parents should not have to choose.

You should not have to choose between a book that honors God’s Word and one your child actually enjoys.

That is a ridiculous choice. So I refuse to make it.

Some books say all the correct things but lose the child by page four.

Others are bright, noisy and entertaining but leave very little behind once the noise stops.

I believe children deserve both substance and delight.

They deserve books that take Scripture seriously without treating childhood like something that must be endured quietly.

01

Faithful enough for parents to trust

I do not bend Scripture around a rhyme or flatten it into a motivational slogan. The story begins with what God’s Word says. Imagination helps children enter it. Imagination does not replace it.

02

Funny without making faith the joke

The humor comes from personality, reactions and the wonderfully recognizable ways human beings resist perfectly good instructions. God is not the punchline. Scripture is not scenery. A child’s innocence is never treated casually.

03

Beautiful enough to keep

Children notice beauty. They notice color, character, expression and detail long before they have the vocabulary to explain why something holds their attention. My fashion-design and photography background influence the way I build every visual world. Beauty is not added after the important work is finished. Beauty is part of how the story is remembered.

04

Built for the conversation afterward

Why was Naaman so angry? Why did the instructions matter? What changed when he finally obeyed? A strong children’s book does not finish the conversation. It begins one.

Made to remain

Rooted in Scripture. Made for rereads.

The goal is not to keep a child quiet for ten minutes.

The goal is to help God’s Word keep speaking after the book closes.

Because Scripture does not need us to make it interesting. Sometimes we just need to stop making it boring.

A seven-year-old entrepreneur

Before I wrote children’s books, I rented them out.

My entrepreneurial journey began when I was seven years old.

I quietly launched my first business by renting my late grandfather’s children’s books to children at my school and in my neighborhood.

In 1991, that little business earned more than $2,000.

Some children sold lemonade. I had inventory and a customer base.

That first business taught me three things very early:

  1. Children love stories.
  2. Access creates opportunity.
  3. Leadership does not wait for permission.

Apparently, I have been trying to put excellent books into children’s hands for quite some time.

Story, sound, color and movement

Children do not listen with only their ears. They learn with their imaginations.

I am a children’s book author, animated-series creator, musician, songwriter and children’s ministry worship leader because every creative language offers another way to help truth reach a child.

Children hear rhythm. They read expression. They feel atmosphere. They remember what made them laugh. They repeat what gave them language for something they were already trying to understand.

I do not simply want children to know that a Bible story happened. I want them to care what happens next.

Book events & signings

Bring the story off the page.

Shiloh is available for book signings, launch celebrations, bookstore and library events, school visits, church gatherings and family ministry programs.

Bring Shiloh into the room

An author visit should do more than prove that an author exists.

It should make children more curious about stories, Scripture, creativity and the ideas already growing inside them.

Invite Shiloh to bring faith, laughter and a whole lot of personality to wonderfully energetic children and the grown-ups who care about them.

Schools, libraries & homeschool groups

Ideas become stories.

Interactive readings, author visits, storytelling sessions and creative workshops designed for children who have questions, opinions and no intention of staring politely at a wall for forty-five minutes.

Children discover how ideas become stories, how characters develop personalities and how their own imaginations can become something worth sharing.

Churches & family ministries

God’s Word stays central.

Scripture-centered readings, ministry experiences and family events built on more than 20 years of serving children.

These are not generic motivational talks with a Bible verse politely attached.

God’s Word remains at the center, while humor, storytelling and participation help children lean in.
